À propos de cette compétition

GRIFFIN CLASSIC VIRTUAL RACE

Your fitness. Measured. Your limits. Challenged. Your benchmark. Conquered.

Welcome to the first-ever Griffin Classic Virtual Race. A fitness race created for everyday athletes who want to test their strength, functional fitness and cardio endurance in one complete challenge.

Whether you train simply to become fitter and stronger, love having a goal to work towards, or you're preparing for larger-format fitness races such as HYROX or Deadly Dozen, Griffin Classic gives you something measurable to train for.

Because when you have something to train for, your training has purpose.

Set your benchmark. Train to improve it. Come back and challenge it again.

A Fitness Race You Can Complete in Your Own Gym

Griffin Classic is an in-gym fitness race designed to be completed in a relatively small space using equipment commonly found in commercial and functional fitness gyms.

And because this event is virtual, you don't need to travel to a race venue. Just register, prepare and then complete the official Griffin Classic race at your local gym during the event period.

  • You don't need to be an elite athlete.
  • You don't need to be able to run.
  • You don't need to be the strongest person in your gym.
  • And you don't need previous fitness racing experience.
  • You just need to be ready to challenge yourself.

CHOOSE HOW YOU RACE

Griffin Classic is designed for a wide range of fitness abilities. That's why you can choose between two divisions: Compete and Open.

COMPETE DIVISION Race the standard. Record your result. Take your place on the leaderboard.

The Compete Division is for athletes who want to complete the official Griffin Classic race standards and record their result on the event leaderboard.

To compete in this division, you must:

  • Complete all prescribed repetitions and distances.
  • Meet the official movement standards for every station.
  • Complete the stations in the prescribed order.
  • Have your race judged by a Personal Trainer, fitness professional or other suitable person who understands the Griffin Classic movement standards.
  • Have your judge confirm that the required repetitions, distances and movement standards were completed for the time submitted.

Compete is for you if:

  • You want your result recorded on the Griffin Classic leaderboard.
  • You enjoy the competitive side of fitness racing.
  • You can meet the prescribed movement standards.
  • You want an official benchmark to chase at future Griffin Classic events.
  • You're ready to put your training to the test.

Meet the standards. Set your time. See where you stand.

OPEN DIVISION Your race. Your ability. Your benchmark.

The Open Division gives you the opportunity to experience Griffin Classic and challenge yourself without the pressure of meeting every prescribed movement standard.

You should aim to complete each movement as closely as possible to the official standard. However, if your current mobility or movement capacity prevents you from reaching the full standard, such as full squat depth, touching your knee to the ground during a lunge or achieving full overhead extension, complete the movement safely to the best of your ability.

You don't need a judge, and Open Division results are not placed on the competitive leaderboard.

This race is about you versus you.

Open is for you if:

  • This is your first fitness race.
  • You want to experience Griffin Classic without the pressure of competing on a leaderboard.
  • You don't have someone available to judge your race.
  • You can't currently meet one or more of the prescribed movement standards.
  • You want to establish a personal benchmark and challenge it again in the future.

Do what you can today. Train with purpose. Come back stronger.

HOW THE VIRTUAL RACE WORKS

Enter the Griffin Classic Virtual Race and complete the official race format at a suitably equipped gym during the event period.

1. REGISTER FOR THE VIRTUAL RACE Secure your place and receive the information you need to prepare for your Griffin Classic.

2. TRAIN FOR THE CHALLENGE Review the race format, practise the movements and prepare your body to take on all 14 stations.

3. COMPLETE YOUR RACE Head to your chosen gym during the event period and complete each Griffin Classic station in the official race order.

Competing in the Compete Division? Make sure your judge is ready.

Taking on the Open Division? Complete the race safely to the best of your ability.

4. RECORD YOUR TIME The clock starts when you begin the first station and continues until you complete the final required calorie on the Echo Bike. One race. One continuous time.

5. SUBMIT YOUR RESULT Once you've finished, submit your race details and finishing time online.

Compete Division athletes who meet the required standards will have their eligible result recorded on the Griffin Classic leaderboard.

6. CELEBRATE YOUR FINISH You did it.

14 stations. One complete test of your fitness. One benchmark that is now yours to beat.

Are you ready to take on the Griffin Classic? To set your benchmark, take on the challenge, and become the athlete in you.

Then it's time to register, and time to race!
