North Star Classic

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or stepping onto the competition floor for the very first time, the North Star Classic is for you.

Our annual in-house competition is a celebration of everything that makes CrossFit North Star special—our community, our growth, and the friendships we've built along the way. This year, we're introducing a brand-new format featuring co-ed teams of three with mixed abilities, creating an event where teamwork, strategy, and supporting one another are just as important as fitness.

Whether your team is chasing a podium finish or simply looking to challenge yourselves and have fun, you'll experience a day filled with encouragement, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments. At the North Star Classic, every athlete has something valuable to contribute, and every team has an opportunity to succeed.

Expect high fives, loud cheers, and the kind of energy that reminds you why you love this community.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026 Location: CrossFit North Star 2214 County Highway 10 Mounds View, MN Format: Co-ed teams of three Divisions: RX, Intermediate, and Scaled (mixed-ability teams)

Competition Structure

Four Unique Events Teams will complete four events throughout the day, each designed to test a different aspect of fitness. Expect a variety of challenges that reward strength, conditioning, skill, teamwork, communication, and strategy. While every event will look different, the focus remains the same: working together and making the most of each teammate's unique strengths.

Venue Details

Indoor & Outdoor Competition Most events will take place inside CrossFit North Star, with at least one event expected to be held outdoors (weather permitting).

Vendor Village Enjoy local vendors, great food, prizes, and more throughout the day. Whether you're competing or cheering from the sidelines, there will be plenty to enjoy between events.

Team Camp Area We encourage teams to bring chairs, tents, coolers, and anything else that will help make the day comfortable. Set up your team camp, relax between events, and enjoy spending the day with your CrossFit family.

Additional Information

Workout Releases: Workout standards and event information will be released on the competition website and CrossFit North Star's social media in the weeks leading up to the event.

Team Changes: Athlete substitutions may be permitted through the day before the competition in extenuating circumstances. Please contact the event organizers with any requests.

Refund Policy: Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Whether you're competing, volunteering, or cheering on your friends, the North Star Classic is about coming together as a community and celebrating what we're capable of accomplishing together.
