Interactive map showing CrossFit competition pins near a city

"CrossFit competitions near me" is one of the most common searches in the CrossFit community — and one of the hardest to answer. Events are scattered across dozens of registration platforms, announced with short lead times, and rarely aggregated in one place. Until now.

Compete Zone indexes 950+ CrossFit competitions from the major registration platforms (Competition Corner, ScoringFit, Circle21) into a single searchable directory. Here is how to use it to find exactly what you're looking for.

Method 1 — Use the Interactive Map

The fastest way to find competitions near a specific location is the Compete Zone map. It plots every upcoming event as a pin on a world map. You can:

  • Zoom to your city or region
  • Click any pin to see the event name, date, and location
  • Open the event detail page with one click to see divisions, pricing, and the registration link
  • Use the sidebar list to browse all events currently visible on the map

The map defaults to showing upcoming events (start date from today forward). You can adjust the date range using the filters to look further ahead.

Method 2 — Browse by Country or Region

If you know which country you're competing in, the country pages give you a curated list of all events in that territory, organized by region and city.

Popular country directories:

Each country page links to region pages (e.g., Île-de-France, Bavaria, Catalonia) which in turn link to city pages for major urban centres. If your region has events, there is a dedicated page for it.

Method 3 — Filter by Division

CrossFit competitions typically offer multiple divisions. Finding an event that has the right division for your level is one of the most important filtering steps — especially for your first competition.

Individual Divisions

  • RX / Elite: The standard division. Full CrossFit movements at prescribed weights and standards. Best for athletes who are comfortable with all major movements (muscle-ups, heavy barbell cycling).
  • Scaled: Modified weights and movements. Ideal for intermediate athletes who are consistent in their training but not yet at full RX capacity.
  • Foundations / Beginner: Entry-level division with further-scaled movements. The right choice for your first competition.
  • Masters: Age-grouped divisions (35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+). Many competitions offer both RX and Scaled Masters categories.
  • Teens: For athletes under 18, typically 14-15 and 16-17 age groups.

Team Divisions

Most competitions also offer team categories: Mixed Team (2-4 athletes), Same-Sex Team, and Pairs (2 athletes). Team competitions are often more beginner-friendly as the workload is shared. If you're looking for a team partner, check the Compete Zone Community — you can post or browse "Find a Buddy" listings directly linked to specific competitions.

Method 4 — Filter by Date

If you have a target timeframe (e.g., you want to compete before the end of summer), date filtering is the fastest way to narrow the calendar. On Compete Zone, you can:

  • Set a start date and end date range in the map filters
  • Browse the country/region pages which show events sorted chronologically
  • Save events to your favourites to keep track of ones you're considering

What to Look For When Choosing a Competition

Once you've found events near you, here are the key things to check before registering:

1. Are your divisions available?

Not all competitions offer all divisions. A throwdown focused on elite athletes may not have a Scaled or Foundations category. Always check the division list before assuming you can enter.

2. What is the registration status?

Popular competitions sell out quickly — sometimes within hours of opening. If a competition is on your target list, set a reminder for registration opening. Some events use waitlists or early-bird pricing windows.

3. What format does the event use?

One-day vs two-day, online qualifier round vs in-person only, team check-in requirements — these affect your logistics. The event detail page on Compete Zone links directly to the official registration page where this information is confirmed.

4. What is the travel commitment?

For your first competition, choosing one within 1–2 hours of home removes a significant logistical burden. As you build experience, destination events become part of the appeal. The Compete Zone map makes it easy to see at a glance which events are within a comfortable radius.

Looking for a Team Partner?

If you want to compete in a team or pairs division but don't have a partner yet, Compete Zone's Community feature lets you post a "Find a Buddy" listing — specifying the event, your division preference, and how to contact you. Other athletes looking for partners can find and respond to your listing directly.

Quick summary

  • Use the map to find competitions near any location
  • Browse country and region pages for curated lists
  • Filter by division to match your level
  • Check registration status and format before committing
  • Use Community if you need a team partner
