Understanding the HYROX season in Italy
Official HYROX races in Italy bring the global fitness racing standard to several parts of the country. Every official race follows the identical format: 8 times 1 km of running, each followed by a workout station. Athletes complete the SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.
The Italian calendar spreads across the season. Action starts in Lombardia with HYROX Milan in December, moves to Veneto for HYROX Verona in January, continues in Puglia with HYROX Bari in April, and finishes in Emilia-Romagna with HYROX Rimini in May. No single region hosts more events than the others, allowing athletes from across the country to target races close to home or travel across months.
Use this Compete Zone page to plan your season. You can browse the monthly calendar of upcoming events as well as the races from last season. Beside official stops, the page also mentions HYROX-style races and gym simulations to help structure your build-up.
Frequently asked questions
What is the standard race format of an official HYROX event?
Every official event consists of 8 times 1 km of running, with a specific workout station after each kilometer. The stations are the SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.
Which divisions can athletes register for?
Athletes can sign up for Open, Pro, Doubles, or Relay divisions. The Pro division features heavier loads, Doubles share the stations between two athletes, and Relay teams comprise four participants.
How does registration work for official stops in Italy?
Official races sell places through HYROX's own ticketing platform. Popular cities and start waves fill up early, so securing an entry in advance is recommended.
What is the difference between official races and gym simulations on Compete Zone?
Compete Zone lists official HYROX races alongside gym-organised simulations based on the same model. These independent events are not official HYROX competitions, their registration occurs directly on the organiser's site, and the host gym publishes the applicable loads and format.
