About this competition
RUCK around with us as we ruck 9.37 miles through the beautifal Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The event is to remember those veterans we've lost to suicide and bring awareness to the issue of Veteran Suicide. We will be carrying the American Flag and The Bruce flag.
We will start and end together as we ruck/walk 9.37 miles. Wear a weighted ruck (suggested men 30#, women 20#), scale as desired or simply bring a water bottle. Everyone is welcome to participate
This is a FREE event, open to anyone.
Registration is only for head count.

PARKING INFORMATION: The Kendall Lake parking lot is located at 1000 Truxell Road, Peninsula, OH 44264, right off Truxell Road and adjacent to Kendall Lake Shelter ohioparkquests.com. It serves as the main trailhead for the Kendall Lake Loop Trail, a 1.2‑mile, easy‑grade loop that circles the lake and offers views of wetlands, marshes, and surrounding forests ohioparkquests.com. Location & Access Address: 1000 Truxell Road, Peninsula, OH 44264 From I‑71: Take I‑271 N to SR‑303 exit, continue east 2 miles to Peninsula, turn right on Akron–Peninsula Rd., then right on Truxell Rd. to the lot on the right Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Entrance fee: Free for park entry; additional fees may apply for rentals, programs, or special accesses Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Who was Sgt Bruce Cogley? Sgt. Bruce Cogley served with the 101st Airborne Division, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment during Vietnam. His time with the unit led him to serve on Hill 937 aka Hamburger Hill. The battle for Hill 937 lasted for ten days from May 10, 1969, and May 20th, 1969. Bruce was wounded on May 18th, 1969, the eighth day of the battle. Sgt. Cogley, like many other veterans whose battles continued beyond the war, ended his personal battle with PTSD on February 20, 1992 by taking his own life. This ruck is to honor BRUCE and all of the other Vietnam veterans who ended their war at home.
