SLED DOG SHOWDOWN

Nobody pulls alone.

Grab a partner and come throw down with us in the middle of a New England winter. The Sled Dog Showdown is a one-day, teams-of-two competition at SVG Athletics in South Hadley, MA, open to anyone. Rx or Scaled, first comp or fifth, you and your partner will work together, push each other, and leave everything on the floor.

FORMAT

Same-sex teams of two (MM or FF)
Rx and Scaled divisions
Spots are limited. Once a division fills, it's closed.
Three scored events plus a floater
The top 3 MM Rx teams and the top 3 FF Rx teams may advance to a final
Events drop every Monday starting October 19. Event 1 on Oct 19, Event 2 on Oct 26, Event 3 on Nov 2, and the floater on Nov 9.

PRIZES

Rx: over $1,000 total in cash prizes
Scaled: medals and swag for the podium

ENTRY

$175 per team, plus Competition Corner's service fee. Each athlete gets an event shirt. Pick your sizes when you register.
Registration closes Sunday, January 3 at 11:59pm, or sooner if your division fills.
Athletes must be 14+. Teenagers under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver.

THE DAY

Check-in is 8:00 to 8:45am. Athlete briefing starts at 9:00am sharp.
There's no lunch break, so pack food and snacks to eat between heats.
The heat schedule goes up Friday, January 22.
Spectators are free. Bring your people.

WEATHER

If severe weather forces us to postpone, we'll move to Saturday, February 6 and your registration carries over.

REFUNDS AND SUBSTITUTIONS

Registration is non-refundable, but event insurance is available for cheap through a third party at checkout. If one of you can't make it, you can sub in a new partner. Email substitutions to kirsten@svgathletics.com by Wednesday, January 27 at 11:59pm. Your sub will need to sign the waiver before competing.

HOW TO PICK YOUR DIVISION

Both partners should be comfortable with most of the movements listed. Some workouts may let you split reps. We'll spell that out when events drop.

RX Your team does most class workouts as written. Expect:

Barbell cycling at 135/95, with heavier loads in some events
Pull-ups, chest-to-bar pull-ups, toes-to-bar, double-unders
Kipping handstand push-ups
Dumbbells 50/35, kettlebells 53/35, wall balls 20/14
Box 24/20, jumps required

The Rx final may include higher-skill gymnastics. Only one partner will be required to do them.

SCALED Your team scales some or most of the gymnastics or loading in class. Expect:

Barbell cycling up to 95/65
Jumping pull-ups or ring rows, hanging knee raises, single-unders
Hand-release push-ups
Dumbbells 35/20, kettlebells 35/26, wall balls 14/10
Box 24/20, step-overs allowed

Scaled is not for teams where both partners regularly do class workouts as written. If you both have double-unders and toes-to-bar and can cycle 135/95, register Rx.

Listing a movement here doesn't mean it will be programmed.
