Returning for its 5th edition, Phare West Contest 2026 takes place over two days on 10 and 11 October 2026 in Rennes, France.
The competition runs exclusively for teams of two across RX and Scale divisions. Athletes can enter as female-female, male-female, or male-male pairs in the Scale category, while RX offers male-female and male-male setups. Movement standards are clearly split between the two tiers: Scale requires snatch at 25/40 kg, clean and jerk at 35/50 kg, pull-ups and toes-to-bar for one of the two partners, and single unders for both. RX demands snatch at 35/60 kg, clean and jerk at 50/70 kg, plus chest-to-bar, toes-to-bar, muscle-ups, and handstand walks for both athletes.
Registration opens on 30 April 2026 and runs until 10 September 2026. Teams whose abilities exceed the Scale standards must register in RX, as organizers reserve the right to bump overqualified pairs up to RX on the second day.
