Athletes and Coaches of all skill levels interested in learning more about the Olympic lifts (Snatch, Clean and Jerk) via hands on performance of the lifts.
Educational Objectives - Attendees will learn and perform:
- Movement progressions to assist with learning the Olympic lifts and improving technical proficiency.
- Technical primers to assist with improving technical proficiency and decreasing movement flaws within the Olympic lifts.
- Key warm-up and activation strategies to assist with appropriate entry into training the Olympic lifts.

- Attendees will actively train through the above educational objectives, performing variations of the snatch and the clean and jerk throughout the day.
- Attendees will get the opportunity to build to a heavy single/1 RM Snatch and Clean and Jerk, and receive coaching throughout the duration of the seminar.

12 Labours Barbell Christy Asonglefac, DPT, CACWC, USAW-L1, CF-L2, XPS Coach Christy is the head coach and programmer for 12 Labours Barbell Olympic Weightlifting classes and competitors. Christy is the only Catalyst Athletics Certified Weightlifting Coach in Maryland, and additionally holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification. Christy is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with extensive background in working with both weightlifting and CrossFit athletes, and owns Cultivate Movement, the provider of physical therapy services for 12 Labours Barbell athletes. Coach Christy has coached our barbell athletes through local, regional, national, and international competitions. Josh Arcona, M.S. in Exercise Science, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USAW-L1, CF-L1 As co-owner of 12 Labours Fitness, Coach Josh combines years of competitive and academic experience with a passion for developing athletes of all levels through coaching and programming. After a career as a CrossFit Games and Grid athlete, Josh turned his competitive focus to weightlifting. At the 2025 WSO DMV State Championships, Josh set the DMV record for snatch in the men’s 35 - 39 age group in the 110 kg category. Earlier in the year, he took third place at The Arnold. At the 2025 Howard Cohen American Masters in Louisville, Kentucky, Josh took second place, qualifying him for the 2026 World Masters Weightlifting Championship in Athens, Greece. Fred Macareag, USAW-L1, CF-L2 Coach Fred is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach. Fred shifted his competitive focus from CrossFit to Olympic Weightlifting in 2023. In 2023, at his first national meet, he took first place in his age group and weight class at the North American Open Finals. In 2024, he set the DMV record for snatch, clean & jerk, and total for his age group and weight class at the Tough Temple Open. He also successfully defended his title at the 2024 North American Open Finals. In 2025, at the USA Masters National Championships, Fred re-set his own DMV records for snatch, clean & jerk, and total. His efforts earned him a third place finish at Masters Nationals. Later that year, at WSO DMV State Championships, he set new DMV records for snatch, clean & jerk, and total for his age group and new weight class. In December 2025, he took first place for his age group and weight class at the Howard Cohen Classic, qualifying him for the 2026 World Masters Weightlifting Championship in Athens, Greece. Scott Obici, USAWL1 Coach Scott is a national record holder and three-time World Masters Weightlifting Championship medalist who has competed in 25 local, national, and international competitions. On the world stage, he won silver at the 2025 World Masters Weightlifting Championship in Las Vegas, bronze at the 2024 World Masters Weightlifting Championship in Finland, and gold at the 2021 virtual World Masters Weightlifting Championship. Domestically, Scott took gold at the 2023 Masters National Championship and currently holds the U.S. national record in the men's 65 - 69 age group, 79 kg weight class. In addition to his competition experience, Scott is USA Weightlifting Level 1 certified and has extensive coaching experience.
