Stage 2: Quarterfinals – Coach-Regulated Progression Quarterfinals is the second stage of the WWA season. The top 25% of athletes from the Open advance.
This stage introduces the first layer of structure:
• Performed in recognized gyms or affiliates • Basic coach oversight required • Clear written movement standards • 4-day competition window • 6 workouts testing broader fitness capacity
Quarterfinals is intermediate - advanced difficulty and acts as the transition from open participation to more formal expectations. Workouts begin to demand more skill, strength, and conditioning than the Open, but remain accessible to a wide range of athletes.
2026: Quarterfinals in the Honesty Jar Season Because 2026 is the Honesty Jar Season, this year’s Quarterfinals are still designed with low enforcement and maximum accessibility.
For 2026 only:
• No video submissions required • Coach oversight is recommended, not mandatory • No penalties for variations in gym setup • No cut-line performance requirements for advancing divisions • Participation and community involvement are prioritized above precision
Athletes are expected to follow the published standards to the best of their ability and perform the tests honestly, but the purpose of this first year is data collection, participation growth, and system refinement—not rigid enforcement.
Long-Term Quarterfinals Goal As WWA evolves, Quarterfinals will shift into a fully coach-judged and verified stage with:
• Required video submissions • Required certified judges • Standardized equipment and layout • Defined cut lines for Semifinals qualification • Verification protocols for top advancing athletes
Quarterfinals will eventually become the structural backbone between the community-wide Open and the competition-level Semifinals.
Year 1 is intentionally simple. Future years will apply progressively stricter rules to build a fair, credible qualification pathway.

World Wide Athletics – The Fitness Standard is a global competition platform designed to establish a clear, measurable system for testing fitness performance. Our mission is to create a standardized benchmark for multi-skill fitness — combining repeatable record-based tests with annually programmed variety events. Athletes from any training background can participate, including CrossFit, running, cycling, weightlifting, powerlifting, military training, and more. The season follows a four-stage format — Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals — with difficulty and verification increasing at each stage. • The Open is fully free to enter and built for maximum participation. • Quarterfinals introduce coach-regulated performances. • Semifinals feature trained judging standards. • Finals are fully standardised, officially judged, and structured as a 5-day live event. Year 1 operates as the Honesty Jar Season, where movement standards are published and athletes self-govern. This allows the highest possible participation while WWA collects data and builds the long-term structure of the sport. World Wide Athletics is built to provide clarity, structure, and a progression pathway for fitness competitions grounded in standards, transparency, and measurable performance.
