World Wide Athletics - The Fitness Standard Stage 1: The Open - the starting point in the world’s first standardized, global fitness season.
The 2026 season is a free, online-only mock run designed to test the full-season structure.
It’s open to everyone, low-barrier, and includes 3 workouts released over a 4-day window, allowing gyms to run Friday Night Lights–style community sessions. At beginner - intermediate level difficulty.
Season Pathway: Open → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Finals
WWA brings athletes together from CrossFit, weightlifting, endurance sports, powerlifting, hybrid racing, and general fitness.
Our aim is to create a clear season structure built around repeatable tests, objective records, and a measurable progression system.
The Finals (Stage 4) will feature: • 9 standardized record events — repeated every year to build legitimate historical progression • 6 multi-skill tests — updated annually to challenge full-spectrum fitness
Stage 1 is open to everyone. As athletes advance through the season, the structure becomes increasingly strict, standardized, and professionally judged. Global. Standardized. Measurable.
The 9 Standardized Record Events:
100m Run 1RM Clean & Jerk Max unbroken strict ring muscle-ups 2000m Row 1RM Snatch 200m Handstand Walk 40-mile Tour de France bike simulation Max front lever hold 1RM Bench Press
At the peak of the season, athletes are tested across the most recognized, historically proven sporting benchmarks. Combined with new multi-skill tests that expand the definition of fitness across every end of the spectrum.

World Wide Athletics – The Fitness Standard is a global competition platform designed to establish a clear, measurable system for testing fitness performance. Our mission is to create a standardized benchmark for multi-skill fitness — combining repeatable record-based tests with annually programmed variety events. Athletes from any training background can participate, including CrossFit, running, cycling, weightlifting, powerlifting, military training, and more. The season follows a four-stage format — Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals — with difficulty and verification increasing at each stage. • The Open is fully free to enter and built for maximum participation. • Quarterfinals introduce coach-regulated performances. • Semifinals feature trained judging standards. • Finals are fully standardised, officially judged, and structured as a 5-day live event. Year 1 operates as the Honesty Jar Season, where movement standards are published and athletes self-govern. This allows the highest possible participation while WWA collects data and builds the long-term structure of the sport. World Wide Athletics is built to provide clarity, structure, and a progression pathway for fitness competitions grounded in standards, transparency, and measurable performance.
