Whether you are a seasoned athlete or new to competition, this is your opportunity to challenge yourself and have a bunch of fun doing it!

Jervis Bay New South Wales

The festival weekend provides a ‘format for everyone’;

Our Teams setup allows you to step out onto the competition floor with your mates to experience the best of both worlds: all the fun of competition and the confidence that comes with comradery and community.

Teams of Four (all female, all male, and mixed) - Saturday 8th November

For those who want to compete for the title of ‘Boss of the Bay’, the Individual setup is for you. This division allows you to test yourself directly against fellow athletes and watch your name climb the leaderboard.

Individuals - Sunday 9th November

This is your time to shine, flying solo and showing the world what you've been training for!

Have you tried a few competitions in a team or pairs and are looking for your first solo test? Then this is for you

Pick your division…

Advanced (RX): The perfect fit for athletes who love the thrill of competition and would typically Rx daily workouts. If you can get through workouts using Rx standard weights but don't yet think you are advanced this is still likely your division.

It is our aim to have more athletes recognise they should be stepping into the advanced division, even if you don't feel you will be placing high yet. TBG's test a broad range of fitness including swimming; so if you're a gun in the gym but will struggle through the swims, that doesn't mean you get to drop down to intermediate ;) That's the beauty of the sport, some of you will crush the lifting workout but come last in the swim, others will dominate the water events and struggle through a heavy sandbag workout; embrace the strengths and weaknesses. TBG is not a typical CrossFit competition either so even though we have an advanced category, you will not be experiencing the advanced CrossFit movements like snatches and muscle ups.   - Regularly complete most workouts in the gym as prescribed. - Have been into fitness for sometime and doing functional fitness for a couple of years. - May be ranked in the top 2,000 in Oceania for the CrossFit Open (not exclusive). - Can physically complete all movements at advanced weights, even if difficult. - Don't swim regularly but with a bit of training can confidently complete the swim distance of 200-500m, even if you have to use breaststroke. - If you have won in the intermediate division previously you must enter in advanced.

Intermediate: For those who are new to competing, share a common goal of functional fitness, and are working toward mastering their skills. Be sure to only select this division if you are yet not able to complete Rx weights at all. Our intermediate diivision is for athletes who would typically scale daily workouts and have been training functional fitness for a short amount of time. Help us keep a fair competition and make the jump to advanced division even if you will be middle of the pack.

This is our broadest division, from seasoned fitness enthusiasts to absolute first timers (our specialty). If you're looking for a killer challenge and the most exciting comp all year, then this is for you.   - Have been training strength and conditioning 3+ times a week for 6 months or longer. - Can physically complete all movements at intermediate weights, even if difficult. - Looking for your first functional fitness competition. - May have completed a handful of different competitions as you build your fitness but mostly participate for the joy of challenging yourself. - Ranked outside the top 2,000 in Oceania for the CrossFit Open. - Don't swim regularly but with training and preparation can complete a short distance swim between 100-300m, in any style. Note: if participating in a team, only 2 members are required to swim.

Masters (Individuals Event Only): For the more experienced Everyday Athletes out there, if you're 40+ then this is for you! The workouts are very similar but with some weight adjustments and some movement, modifications to pave the way for longevity!

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The awesome workouts will take place on the whitest beaches in the world, in the crystal clear waters of Jervis Bay and in the main arena.

We provide all the equipment for the events (except skipping rope's or other training gear you may choose to wear) i.e. you only need to bring whatever you will wear.

We will have a warm-up area and recovery station complete with ice baths.

Around the main arena, we have a food village with loads of yummy, local options on offer! Just over one week out from The Games, movement standard videos will be released, along with heat times and an athlete information pack email.

One question that pops up from time to time is, "If I can't do a certain movement, can I still compete?". The answer is YES.

But, naturally, to be eligible for scoring points on the Leaderboard you need to complete the workout as it is prescribed in your division - but if you're there to have fun and challenge yourself rather than shooting for a podium finish, we'll never stand in your way!

Just email support@thebaygames.com in the event you have any questions about this.
